Whether immersing in specialist workshops from inspirational visiting mentors in our large converted barn, joining in with villagers engaging in seasonal ventures and learning local culinary or millinery crafts, or simply stopping to think whilst resting, reading or chatting, as the sun rises and sets in the timeless village of Bãla, here at La Poiata we believe you will leave feeling refreshed and inspired.
We offer an ideal place for guests to safely escape the city and simply come and stay in one of our village houses, in relative isolation, in our idyllic corner of the world, and enjoy tasting the natural local produce, with options available from self-catering to full board.
Why not organise a group visit? We have hosted several successful team-building events for companies keen to escape the office or to bond in the real world after too many impersonal, two dimensional zoom meetings.
La Poiata Retreat is an entirely non-smoking environment. We ask guests to respect the clean air and fragile wooden structures and make every effort to refrain from smoking when in the houses or around the grounds. Whilst high speed wi-fi is available to those who need it, and the village makes an ideal place to work remotely, we encourage visitors to let go of their devices whenever they can and experience the real, ever-changing world around them.
Join us for a village retreat
Enjoy daily morning meditation, yoga or qi-gong, three delicious meals a day of locally sourced organic food either on the terrace or in our stunning barn, with bread and pastries baked in our king sized bread oven, and spend time exploring the village and the surrounding hills and lakes. Programmes can be as flexible as everybody would like and we welcome all suggestions as the retreats evolve.
